The sacred teachings were divided into four equal parts and one given to each tribe. The four root races were then sent to the four directions, each given a special knowledge of creation. The Yellow People were entrusted with Spirit and the element of fire. The Black People were given Soul corresponding to the element of water. the White People learned about the Mind and the element of air. And the Red People had Body and the element of earth. Each race was therefore given a quarter of the whole truth of creation.
But as time passed, they forgot that their knowledge was incomplete. Volcanos destroyed the world during the period of fire. They went to the Black People and put them in chains and made slaves of them instead of learning about Soul. When they came to America, they brought with them the Yellow People and the Black People as slaves as they began their conquest of the Red People. They did not attempt to learn about the Body and caretakership of the earth from the Red People, but rather attempted to destroy them. And sure enough, in our time, the destruction of forests which produce oxygen and habitat, the pollution from fossil fuels, and the chemical destruction of the oceans and the ozone layer all lead to destruction of this world by the contamination of the air -- the White People\'s own special expertise, represented by the Mind. There are many native mandalas with varying\n degrees of correspondence ",
But as time passed, they forgot that their knowledge was incomplete. On Friday, April 21st Governor Perdue signed SB380 (www.georgiahorsecouncil/sb380.pdf) into law, this is the beginning of the Georgia Equine Commodity Commission.

This would not have happened if Senator Brian Kemp did not step forward to help the Georgia Equine Industry. Senator Kemp went to bat for the Equine Industry and took a lot of heat in doing so. He appreciates comments or questions so send yours to brian.kemp@senate.ga.gov . Dr. Gary Heusner (GHC Treasurer) was the person that spoke with Senator Kemp about the starting of this Commission. There is also a special person that we have working for us at the Capitol Dr. Lee Meyers, our state veterinarian. Thank you all.

Thank you to all of you who showed up for Equine Day at the Capitol and to the many meetings along the way. With your support our legislators saw that this was important to our industry.

We are not done! Now we will need to get signatures and commitments to purchase the equine license plate, so gather up all your friends and family to sign up for this tag. Department of Motor Vehicle will not start making these tags until we have a minimum of 1,000 signatures. Watch for the form on at our website www.georgiahorsecouncil.com .

Not all people know what the word Equine means so explain the meaning to all of those non-horse people. We need to make sure that we get the message out. This is a great day for the Georgia Equine Industry. Spread the word.

Thank you for being a concerned Horse Owner!

Wild Horse Mismanagement Reported to Mustang And Wild Horse Rescue

Locks and gates are
easily broken.Keep you expensive saddles in your home, not at your barn.

DeWormer Tragedy

The Mustang and Wild Horse Rescue has just learned that there may be a bad
batch of Bimectin wormer. Please read below

We have had quite a tragedy at our ranch the last few days, and after
talking to
my attorney she gave me the go ahead to tell others about it. I wormed 5 of
my
horses with BIMECTIN wormer on WEDNESDAY, when I went out to give them
breakfast
on THURSDAY, they looked sick. My vet was contacted. Long story short, by
FRIDAY they where down and could not get up, and by saturday and
sunday they DIED.

The other horses wormed the same day with a DIFFERENT wormer are FINE.
These horses
had the same feed, water, hay etc, the ONLY difference in the horses
was the WORMER.
My vet after seeing them told me he HAS seen this BEFORE. A MASSIVE overdose
of
wormer. Normally a batch of wormer made too strong at the factory.

THIS IS ONLY A SUSPICION ON MY PART. Some 55,862 acres of national
forest lands in the South are among about 300,000 the Bush administration
hopes to sell as part of a new bid to fund rural schools, according to a
list posted on a US Forest Service Web site. Mr. Carr said the Southern region has the second most acres
on the potential sale list behind California, where more than 85,000 acres
of forest land are identified for possible liquidation.

"We need more national forest lands, not less", Mr. Carr stated.

We feel strongly that selling off this land will subject it to clear cutting
by private individuals and we would hate to see this happen. With Theresa riding
eresan and Herman following in an '89 Chevy pick-up, the couple plans
to take their message to every state of the Union, except Hawaii. They
left their hometown of Williamstown, VT, with $60 and a full tank of
gas. This provision
provides momentum for legislation that will make the horse slaughter ban
permanent.
About 65,000 horses are slaughtered each year in the U.S. to be made into
food for humans. Texas and Illinois are the only two states that slaugher
horses, which are processed for human consumption overseas. Texas law
dating to 1949 has banned the slaughter of horses for consumption but
operators of the slaughterhouses have argued that the law does not apply to
them because they are selling the meat in France, Belgium and other
countries and they are regulated by federal interstate commerce laws. A
federal judge ruled in favor of the slaughterhouse plants and prohibited
authorities from shutting them down.
The effort to ban horse slaughter drew new momentum after 41 wild horses
were killed at the Illinois packing plant under a new law allowing the
government to sell horses and burros roaming free on public lands in the
western states.
For further information go to www.AHDF.org American Horse Defense Fund.

Mustang Rescue Personnel Participate in Mounted Police Clinic

David Hesse and Montana Sky participated in a mounted police training clinic
put on by at Wills Park in Alpharetta, GA. There were 15 participants in
this activity where the horse and rider were put through riding formation
drills as well as extraction of emergency vehicles in a crowd situation.
Smoke bombs, flares, blank .357 rounds, sirens and speakers blared and tarps
flapped in the wind as the horse and rider were expected to stay focused on
their job without "spooking". A great training experience for both the
horse and rider. David Hesse said he "recommends this clinic to everyone
who is interested in learning how to keep their horse under control in tense
and potentially dangerous situations". He also has a greater appreciation
of what mounted police are put through during crowd control and how tiring a
job it is. It is to their credit that they can maintain a cool personna
while dealing with drunks and others after working on horseback for 14 hours
a day. Not an easy thing to ask.
